7.2 Japan Earthquake, Tsunami Warning Issued

This just in, an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.2 struck off the coast of Honshu, Japan’s main island.

As a result of the earthquake, authorities have issued a tsunami alert for all the northeastern coast of the island. A tsunami of about 20 inches is expected to hit the coast on Wednesday’s noon, local time.
According to the information published by the US Geological Survey, the quake had a magnitude of 10 kilometers, and struck exactly at 12:45 Japan time.
